Veterans of VMware and Citrix Help Drive Growth of Award-Winning Workspace Computing Company

Framingham, MA, April 10th, 2012: Centrix Software, a leading provider of workspace computing solutions, today announced continued expansion in the U.S. with the addition of two key appointments. Barry Flanagan has joined as Senior Director of Strategic Alliances and George Pradel as Senior Sales Engineer. Both gentlemen have rich backgrounds in end-user computing, including extensive experience at VMware and Citrix, and deep relationships with Microsoft.

“We’re seeing tremendous demand for Centrix Software’s workspace computing solutions across all customer segments, as well as from technology vendors and channel partners who want to leverage our unique approach to desktop transformation,” said Brett Johnson, VP of Sales and Marketing, Americas, Centrix Software. “Barry and George are well-regarded throughout the industry for their expertise in desktop virtualization and end-user computing. Their unrivalled understanding of customer needs, strong relationships with leading alliance and channel vendors, and proven ability to execute, will be invaluable as we continue our exponential growth.”

Barry Flanagan brings a wealth of experience in sales, strategic alliances and solutions marketing to Centrix Software. Most recently at Liquidware Labs, he led alliances and built go-to-market programs with major software players including VMware, Dell and Citrix. Prior, he spent 11 years at Citrix, where he directed worldwide sales strategy and field engagement with Microsoft, growing the joint pipeline and revenue by orders of magnitude. He also worked closely on relationships with other major vendors such as IBM and HP, and secured key Fortune 100 companies as customers. Well-versed as both a technology and partner evangelist, Flanagan contributed substantially to the community understanding of desktop virtualization and best practices. He helped Citrix launch the official Citrix blog in 2007, was one of the most-read Citrix bloggers, and the most-followed Citrix Twitter account with over 13,000 followers. During his career, he has spoken at more than 1,000 venues across the U.S. and Europe.

“This is an exciting time to be joining Centrix Software. The industry focus on Windows 7 migrations, desktop virtualization and cloud computing has created a perfect storm for our solutions. It’s clear from my interactions with leading vendors and customers that Centrix Software fills a critical and unmet need for accelerating end-user computing transformations and simplifying workspace computing,” said Flanagan. “I’m looking forward to building on my experience and relationships, and helping drive our growth in the U.S.”

George Pradel has 25 years of desktop computing experience with deep technical and sales capabilities. Prior to Centrix Software, he was Senior Sales Engineer at Liquidware Labs, where he was instrumental in advancing customers and partners through the buying and partnership process. In previous positions, he directed the SE team at Quest Software responsible for its private cloud offering, and led strategic alliances and global systems engineering at Vizioncore, where he developed partnerships with VMware and other virtualization vendors while serving as the main liaison for key customer accounts. Earlier, while at VMware, Pradel focused on expanding the company’s reach and brand awareness, starting the VMware Users Group in Wisconsin in conjunction with a customer. Pradel was named SE of the year for VMware in 2005. He began his software career at Citrix, where he was one of the first 11 SE’s for the company worldwide. He went on to lead the Central Region’s Citrix team in his role as SE Manager.

“To be successful, you must deliver products that meet customers’ existing needs while providing the bridge to where they need to go. I joined Centrix Software because its ability to deliver applications by using cloud aggregation is unparalleled. I’m delighted to be part of such an innovative organization, and eager to help customers transition to the new workspace—making it easy for users to take advantage of the cloud while preserving investments in legacy applications,” said Pradel.
