Internet of Things Public Cloud Innovator Recognized for Driving Evolution of Connected Solutions
BOSTON – October 30, 2013 – Xively, a subsidiary of LogMeIn (NASDAQ: LOGM) and creator of the first public cloud platform for the commercial Internet of Things (IoT), today announced that Xively Cloud Services took top honors as the MobITS award winner in the “M2M, Sensors, RFID, NFC” category at CTIA’s MobileCon 2013.
The MobITS awards recognize innovative solutions for helping companies drive business and operate more efficiently through mobility and real-time data. Winners, which were selected by open public voting and a panel of distinguished judges, were announced at CTIA’s 2013 MobileCon conference on October 17, 2103.
“The Internet of Things and M2M industries are advancing at an incredible pace, and we’re proud to be at the forefront of this evolution. Earning the MobITS award is particularly gratifying because Xively was selected by companies that are using, or planning to leverage, the IoT to enhance their businesses, and by industry experts who understand what is needed to enable connected solutions on the Internet of Things,” said Chad Jones, VP Product Strategy for Xively. “We’re honored that these two communities recognized the value of Xively’s unique approach to helping entrepreneurs and enterprises rapidly build, scale and manage compelling connected solutions.”
Industry experts have predicted that the IoT market could generate up to $14.4 trillion1 in revenue, representing over one trillion connected objects by 20202. In order for businesses to capitalize on this massive opportunity, they must go beyond connecting devices on a network. They need a comprehensive set of services that enable those devices to interact in a meaningful, secure way with applications, users and other devices. However, many organizations are stymied by the enormous complexities and high cost of building and scaling their own IoT infrastructure, and the elongated timeframe required to go from prototype to production. Xively Cloud Services is designed to eliminate these complexities and collapse the timeframe, while doing so at a cost that makes IoT development attractive to businesses of all sizes.
Xively provides the first public cloud purpose-built for the commercial Internet of Things (IoT). Xively’s Platform as a Service (PaaS) helps companies simplify and accelerate development of a new generation of IoT-connected products by allowing businesses of all sizes to focus on their innovation, instead of infrastructure, and bring compelling connected offerings to market at significant cost savings. Through the power of Xively’s Connected Object Cloud™, solutions can securely and selectively interconnect, creating an exponential effect.
